TbiliCity, a project by JumpStart Georgia and funded by Open Society Foundations and JumpStart International, is about access to information -- putting the right information in the hands of people who need it to make decisions every day.
Its goal is to improve the quality and increase the quantity and access to information that is important to the lives of those who live in Tbilisi, but its import extends well beyond the scope of Tbilisi.
With detailed, quality information in hand, residents of Tbilisi can respond to issues of concern in an informed way. They can bring relevant information to bear on the issue at hand.
TbiliCity is about moving away from mere opinion, guesses and rumor to a fact-based discussion where stakeholders can target the source of issues, not just symptoms.
It is about people able to assess whether a statement is true or false, reasonable or unreasonable, by applying an analysis of facts over emotional or politicized reactions to issues.
With access to the right information, stakeholders can build easy-to-use tools that improve the well being of Tbilisiās residents.
